At the same time, the company also announced a new \u201cSuggested Places\u201d feature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"anp-pro-p\">The. new Suggested Places feature is live in iOS 26.5, and Apple says it will \u201cdisplay recommendations based on what\u2019s trending nearby, the user\u2019s recent searches, and more.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"anp-pro-inline-figure\" style=\"margin:1.75em auto;text-align:center;max-width:100%;\"><img class=\"anp-pro-inline-img\" src=\"http:\/\/entertainmentnews.site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ios-26-4-maps-suggested-places-search.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"display:block;margin:0 auto;max-width:100%;width:auto;height:auto;object-fit:contain;object-position:center;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"anp-pro-p\">The new Suggested Places feature will appear tap inside the search box in the Apple Maps app.<\/p>\n<p class=\"anp-pro-p\">Read more: iOS 26.5 adds new Apple Maps feature for trending places<\/p>\n<p class=\"anp-pro-p\">While ads aren\u2019t yet live in Apple Maps, Aaron Perris notes on social media that Apple has started laying the groundwork: \u201cMaps may show local ads based on your approximate location, current search terms, or view of the map while you search.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"anp-pro-p\">Apple started testing end-to-end encryption for RCS messages as part of the iOS 26.4 betas. The feature, however, didn\u2019t actually ship as part of that update, and Apple said it would come as part of a future iOS 26 update.<\/p>\n<p class=\"anp-pro-p\">iOS 26.5 includes end-to-end encryption for RCS messages once again. The update specifically introduces Live Activities support for third-party accessories.
